Romac Industries manufactures two varieties of dismantling joints. The DJ400 and the DJ405. Both models incorporate innovative features which simplify installation, use and maintenance of your system.
DJ405 MATERIALS

Flange Spool: AWWA Class D Flange compatible with ANSI class 125 and 150 bolt circles. For 3" - 12" sizes, pipe is Sch 40 ASTM A53. For 14" - 24" pipe material is ASTM A36.

Body: ASTM A536 ductile (nodular) iron meeting or exceeding Grade 65-45-12, with ANSI Class 125 and 150 bolt circles.

Gaskets: Compounded for water and sewer service in accordance with ASTM D 2000 (Sizes 3 - 12" have flange O-Ring gasket). Other compounds available for petroleum, chemical, or high temperature service.
Gland: Romac RomaGrip™.

Restraining Bolts: 7/8 –9 roll thread, Ductile (nodular) iron, meeting or exceeding ASTM A 536.

Restraining Lugs: Ductile (nodular) iron, meeting or exceeding ASTM A 536. Heat treated using a proprietary process.

Lug Locators: Polyurethane, a thermal plastic.

T-bolts and Nuts: High strength low alloy steel T-head bolt. National coarse rolled thread and heavy hex nut. Steel meets AWWA C111 composition specifications. Stainless steel bolts and nuts available on request.

Coatings: Fusion bonded epoxy, NSF 61 certified.
The new DJ405 is Romac’s newest dismantling joint development. The DJ405’s design simplifies installation, allows deflection AND delivers all the features of traditional dismantling joints.

Ideal for systems that require periodic
maintenance, the DJ405 can be adjusted to the desired length with up to five inches of travel within the unit. This tolerance allows access for installation or removal of valves and other fittings.

Installation is simplified by eliminating the need for tie-rods. We’ve replaced the tie-rods with Romac’s UL rated and FM approved lug style restraint gland, the RomaGrip™. This change simplifies lengthening, shortening, installation and removal if necessary. The RomaGrip™ also accomodates deflection, something that traditional dismantling joints do not allow.

DJ400 MATERIALS

Flange Spool (3-12 inch)

Flange Spool (14-72 inch)
AWWA Class D Steel Ring Flange, compatible with ANSI Class 125 and 150 bolt circles. Pipe is ASTM A36 plate 1% cold expanded to size.

End Ring & Bodies (3-12 inch)
The end ring and body are made from ASTM A536 65-45-12 Ductile Iron.

End Ring & Bodies (14-72 inch)
The end ring and body are made from ASTM A36 steel.

Gaskets
NBR Gaskets are made from rubber compounded for water and sewer service in accordance with ASTM D 2000 MBA810Z. Other compounds are available for petroleum, chemical, or high temperature service.

Bolts & Nuts
ASTM A588 HSLA bolt material. Stainless Steel, Types 304 or 316 is optional.

Tie-Rods
High tensile steel per ASTM A193 grade B7. Stainless steel, type 304 or 316 is optional.

Coatings
Fusion bonded epoxy, NSF 61 certified.
