Romac Industries, Inc. is a waterworks products company dedicated to
integrating technology with pipe products to develop innovative
solutions for planners, engineers and end-users. Headquartered in
Bothell, WA, Romac currently has warehouse and production facilities on
both the east and west coasts of the United States. Romac has a full
line of waterworks products including repair clamps, couplings,
tapping sleeves, service saddles, HDPE products, sewer products,
tapping tools, valve insertion and restraint systems. The range of solutions
that Romac offers has been put to use in an extremely diverse group of fluid
systems worldwide.
The Romac Difference
In 1969 Romac set out to bring innovative products to water and sewer
pipelines. Our SS1 was the first all stainless steel repair clamp.
The SS1 repair clamp provided an extended life and a simple method
of installation not yet seen in such a product. That first "Romac Original" set
the tone for Romac’s vision and mission for the next 30 years.
In the following decades, Romac has developed and brought to market many
innovations that are standards in the industry today.
Romac’s Mission
Romac Industries’ Mission is to respond to the needs of our customers
by providing superior service and high quality, innovative waterworks,
fluid control and cast products while enriching the lives of our
employees.
Made in the USA
To speed delivery of our products, Romac has manufacturing and warehouse
facilities on both the east and west coasts.
Romac Foundry
All cast parts used in our waterworks products are manufactured
with high grade ductile iron in our own automated foundry.
With a wide variety of equipment and capabilities, Romac Foundry also
offers its services to outside customers. The Romac Foundry is located
in Sultan, Washington, about 25 miles from the corporate headquarters
in Bothell. The three buildings house a total of 75,000 square feet
on a five acre site. In compliance with all environmental regulations,
Romac pours ductile iron castings to ASTM A536-80. (Other cast alloys
are available.)
Fab Steel
Romac’s broad product line is spread even further by way of its
in-house fabricated steel shop. Romac’s fab shop manufactures highly
customized products including:
• Large diameter couplings, fully expanded up to 200 inches
• Large diameter flange coupling adapters, with various flange configurations
• Custom fab steel tapping sleeves
• Dismantling joints and flexible connections
• Expansion joints
• Bell joint repair housings & encasements
• Products with pressure ratings up to 500 psi
GripRing
At first glance, the picture at left might appear to be a disaster,
however, it is a significant success story. These are actual field
photos taken in North Carolina in 1999 shortly after Hurricane Floyd
washed the road out, leaving a 70 foot crevasse. At a height
of 12 feet, the 12-inch water main remained operational, under pressure
the whole time due to the Romac GripRings installed on the pipe. It was
the only water main serving a town of more than 11,000.
A prime example of Romac innovation, the GripRing is a pipe restraint
system that provides true full circumferential restraint. The simple
design has become a favorite among engineers looking for a hassle free
restraint that is a breeze to install.
Regional Presence
Romac recognizes that every US region has different geographic and regional
needs. In response, Romac staffs an experienced Area
Manager in each of the 50 states to quickly respond to customer
Inquiries.
Licensed Professional Engineers
The most valuable resource Romac has is its employees. Products such
as the GripRing, FlexiJoint and QuikValve wouldn’t be possible without
extremely talented engineers. Romac’s staff of licensed professional
engineers draw upon decades of highly specialized experience, and often
work with the customer to provide economic solutions which will fit
into any project.
SOS Service
In the event of an emergency after our regular business hours we have
someone available and ready to help you 24 hours a day, seven days a
week.
Romac’s passion for excellence and commitment to the development of new
technologies has attracted the industry's best engineers and designers,
and an active, informed user base - a combination that leaves Romac
Industries well-equipped to take on the enviable challenges of
continued growth.
